wrasse woes

So two nights ago my wrasse was being very timid at feeding time. She’s always been wary of large motions around the tank (i.e. me) but she wasn’t wanting to come out and eat. Finally she ate a bit but she was looking kind of rough. Last night I got pics of her. Again, mostly stayed in the rock work during feeding. Looks even worse. *sigh*

I tried catching her this morning but thanks to the warty mushroom I failed. The wrasse ended up moving just enough to hide more. No real energy to the process, just get to the next rock and lay down. I’m afraid I won’t have a wrasse this evening. :(

And here are a couple of other pics I snapped at the same time:

Yikes. She looks bad. Some sort of fungal infection?

Stress can lead to otherwise normal things getting the best of a fish… I wonder if it’s related to whatever your clown had?

No idea. The symptoms are very different. The clown had a sore on his chin then eventually something in his mouth, but through out he was active and eating. The wrasse has been very lethargic, hiding during feeding time. I actually caught her this morning with my hand, which is a bad sigh given how active she was for the first couple of weeks. Normally I’d never get near. I did a fresh dip for about 10 minutes and upon reintroduction to the main tank she was a bit more active, but not a lot. I have her in a bag with holes to keep her from hiding in rocks again. We’ll see if she is still around this evening.

I’m wondering if this is what happened to the firefish. He behaved similarly, not coming out to eat, then hiding and eventually dying in the rock work. I’m not sure why the clown and goby have been okay through it all. The goby hasn’t shown any signs of health issues since day one.
